Kiah Gehl, MT-BC, NMT

Owner, Music Therapist, Neurologic Music Therapy - Professional Affiliate

Kiah is a board certified music therapist with a passion for using music to foster growth, healing and connection. With training from Augsburg University and Loyola University - New Orleans and clinical experiences in trauma, educational settings and older adults in a variety of settings, Kiah specializes in helping children gain the social skills they need to function in their everyday lives.

Kiah’s approach to treatment is trauma-informed, client-centered and evidence based, incorporating techniques such as improvisation, songwriting and much more. Whether through singing, composing, listening, playing instruments or engaging in music games, Kiah strives to create a safe and supportive environment where clients can express themselves and achieve their therapeutic goals.

In addition to her clinical work, Kiah completed the Neurologic Music Therapy training through the University of Toronto and earned her professional affiliate status through the Academy of Neurologic Music Therapy. Kiah also serves as the secretary/treasurer for the South Dakota Music Therapy Association where she collaborates with colleagues and students to further the profession in the state.

When not in the therapy space, Kiah enjoys reading, playing on worship teams, cooking, baking, spending time outdoors with her husband Keith and snuggling with her cat Finnegan.
